Two area Chevrolet dealerships will stop selling new vehicles after receiving letters from General Motors.

Lanier Chevrolet owner Glenn Lanier in Linden, Texas, said the letter stated his contract with GM would not be renewed after 2010.

“We’re not closing our doors. We’re going to keep taking care of our customers until then,” Lanier said.

Orr Classic in Ashdown, Ark., will remain as a pre-owned auto dealership, having its selection of Chevrolets shipped off to a dealership in Searcy, Ark. No employee loss is anticipated.
