Plaintiff says drug gave her disorder

A Camden, Ark., woman who claims a drug commonly prescribed for chronic heartburn gave her a debilitating nervous system disorder is suing the drug’s manufacturer in federal court.

Kecia Neal allegedly developed tardive dyskinesia from taking the prescription drug Reglan, also known as metoclopramide. The drug is used to treat gastrointestinal disorders such as acid reflux and slow stomach emptying, known as gastroparesis.

Neal was prescribed Reglan in 2005.
