An Atlanta, Texas, lawyer arrested for DWI on his way to Bowie County Courthouse to represent a murder defendant has been ordered to reimburse the cost of a jury panel.

Bryan Simmons was taken into custody by the Texas Department of Public Safety around noon Tuesday after having a single-car accident on Highway 8 near New Boston, Texas.

Midway through jury selection in the case of Thomas “Hunter” Davis, 102nd District Judge John Miller declared a mistrial because of Simmons’ absence.
