The U.S. Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for emergency loans.

Farmers in the Arkansas counties of Miller, Lafayette, Columbia and Union and Bowie County, Texas, who experienced losses from severe storms, tornadoes and flooding April 29 can file applications. Those affected by the severe weather must show a 30 percent loss of normal production in a single enterprise to be eligible for a Farm Service Agency loan. Farmers must also be able to repay this and other loans, be unable to get credit from other sources and have adequate security.
