The Ashdown, Ark., police and fire departments and the Little River County Sheriff’s Department have joined forces with United Blood Services for a blood drive.

The Guns & Hoses Blood Drive will be 12:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ashdown’s Safety Building.

The departments are challenging each other to a friendly competition to see which team can bring in the most blood donors and units of blood. The goal is to collect more than 45 units.
