NEW BOSTON, Texas—Knowing that there’s little room in their financial margin to spare for Bowie County’s 2009-10 budget, most county officials expressed satisfaction with their current finances during budget hearings Tuesday.

As each department head appeared before county commissioners at the daylong hearings, each kept budget requests for next fiscal year limited to what they received this year.
