An early afternoon argument escalated into a shooting Wednesday, leaving a man dead and another under arrest in Miller County.

Around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Miller County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call made by an unidentified woman regarding a shooting at 1287 Miller County Road 61.

Detectives said the body of Anthony “Tony” Howard Hight, 42, of Hooks, Texas, was found in the residence with a gunshot wound to the left pelvic area.

The suspect, Scott Michael Adams, 37, of Texarkana, Ark., was also at the scene and was taken into custody. A...
