Police officers on both sides of the state line will patrol this weekend looking for DWI and fireworks violations.

Officers in marked and unmarked police cars as well as in uniform and plain clothes will be on extra duty.

“The officers will take any and all actions necessary to help make this holiday safe for everyone,” said Officer Ed Emilia, spokesman for the Texarkana, Texas, Police Department.
