Of the 500 cities throughout Arkansas, Texarkana has the state’s best city clerk.

In June, Patti Scott Grey was presented the Municipal Clerk of the Year Award from the state City Clerks, Recorders and Treasurers Association.

The award has been given annually since 1994, based on points for various clerk criteria.

Grey was one of three women nominated as exemplary in their field, along with clerks from Siloam Springs and North Little Rock.
