The local nonprofit ministry, Pray for a Cure for Cancer, will host a Flapjack Breakfast fundraiser at Applebee’s from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. July 11.

The all-you-can-eat meal is $5 for pancakes and drinks and participants may register for a drawing for a set of Honora Jewelry donated by Crocker’s Jewelers.

The ministry uses money from the fundraisers to purchase roadside billboard space encouraging readers to “Pray for a cure for cancer.”

To date, the ministry has purchased five billboards in Texas and Arkansas, including three in Houston, one in Sulphur Springs...
