Soldier in Afghanistan finds unique way to celebrate the Fourth
Even though U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Kyle Baker could not be home for the Fourth of July, he found a unique way of sending his thoughts home for the nation’s 233rd birthday today.
Baker, a former Hooks, Texas, resident, is now stationed near Jalalabad, Afghanistan. He recently sent a United States flag to his parents, Dillard and Phyllis Baker, who still live Hooks. Baker, 34, is about 12,500 miles from home serving as a medic as part of the 21st Medical Operations Squadron, based out of the Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado.
