The hot summer days are great for boating and enjoying the sun, but yards and gardens may require special attention to survive.

The Gazette spoke to several gardeners to see when they give those thirsty plants something to drink.



James Henry Russell, a self-proclaimed therapeutic gardener, said he waters at night.

“I know some people say it causes fungus, but everything grows at night and the water doesn’t evaporate,” he said.
