Texarkana, Ark., will spend $165,000 from Millwood Water Treatment Plant’s depreciation fund to clean four sludge ponds at the facility.

The ponds hold solids removed from water during the treatment process and none of them have been cleaned since 2005.

The lowest of three bids was approved in a Board of Directors meeting Monday. The project will be completed by TWS Inc. of Lebo, Kan.
