For the first time, the World Series is coming to Texarkana, Ark.

No, it’s not THAT world series, but the 2009 “O” Zone Dixie Youth World Series. It’s expected to bring in some grand slams not only to the Arkansas side but to Texarkana U.S.A.

“The influx is going to make a tremendous impact, a tremendous economic impact on the city. Restaurants and hotels are going to be impacted the most,” said Kenny Haskin, Texarkana, Ark., economic development director.
