H. Ross Perot is Texarkana Independent School District’s 2009 Distinguished Alumni.

Perot, listed by Forbes Magazine as the 72nd Richest American in 2008 with a net worth of more than $5 billion, graduated from Texas High School in 1947. He will be honored Friday with a reception.

Perot, born June 27, 1930, in Texarkana, Texas, ran for U.S. President in 1992, organized a mission to rescue his employees from the Iranian government in 1979, and founded several successful technology companies.
