Local animal welfare organization seizes 4 horses again from pasture

Four horses, including a colt whose growth has been severely stunted, were seized Tuesday from a Miller County pasture by sheriff’s deputies and a local animal welfare organization.

It is the second time the horses have been taken from their owners by the Miller County Sheriff’s Department and members of the ARTEX Animal Welfare Association.

All four horses were seized in August 2008 and returned to their owners by a judge in October 2008, said ARTEX President Dixie Wilson.
