Local lawyer and Texarkana, Ark., city prosecutor Tommy Potter hopes to take the office Brent Haltom will leave Dec. 31, 2010.

Potter announced Monday he is running for prosecuting attorney of the state’s 8th Judicial District South.

“Over the years, the citizens of Miller and Lafayette Counties have come to expect their prosecuting attorneys to roll up their sleeves, get in the courtroom and try the cases. I believe that I have the experience necessary to give the citizens what they have come to expect and deserve,” Potter said.
