Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.’s Texarkana plant has earned the prestigious Energy Saver Award, the U.S. Department of Energy announced recently.

The Texarkana plant was one of 93 nationwide to earn the award, which was presented Thursday by the Association of Energy Engineers at the World Energy Engineering Congress in Washington, D.C.

Plants achieving more than 7.5 percent in total energy savings were given the award.
