The Texarkana area United Methodist churches will have a laity training event from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church.

The speaker for the event will be the Rev. Charlotte Austin of McCary’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Kilgore, Texas.

Austin, who spoke at last year’s Texas Annual Conference for the denomination, will focus on faith-forming relationships and their importance.
