Volunteers are needed to drive vans to transport veterans to and from the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, La.

“Each year more than 5,000 patients are able to access health care because of our Volunteer Transportation Network,” according to Bob Frasier, chief of voluntary services at Overton Brooks.

Volunteer qualifications include possessing a valid driver’s license, proof of current insurance, a safe driving record and a background check. Potential volunteers must also pass a physical exam prior to driving. OBVAMC maintains the donated van fleet used...
