The frontage road project in Texarkana is about to bring two big changes to traffic, including new routes for all traffic on U.S. Highway 59 North.

“It’s a pretty good change,” said Kenny Icenhower, engineer for the Atlanta District of the Texas Department of Transportation.

“All the traffic coming north on 59 that wants to go westbound toward Dallas, we have to close that existing ramp or we can’t build the rest of the project. To do that we had to work out a detour,” he said.
