HOPE, Ark.—The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope expanded community education classes to include man’s best friend.

Tuesday, nine dogs graduated from basic obedience class in a special UACCH ceremony.

School officials said many family members and friends attended the event. The graduating dogs wore graduation bandannas. As each dog came up to receive its diploma, it showed a trick or two learned in the class, school officials said.

Basic commands taught in the class included sit, stay, get down, drop it, come when called and lie down. Other...
