Murfreesboro man finds 3.20-carat white diamond

Dubs his gemstone discovery as ‘The Frosty’

Billy Moore, 45, of Murfreesboro, Ark., was searching for diamonds at the Crater of Diamonds State Park when he thought he had discovered a piece of wadded up gum paper.

But the gum wrapper was a 3.20-carat diamond.

Moore was “wet sifting” in the east drain of the park’s 37.5 acre diamond search area when he found the stone in his screen. A screen is used to sift through dirt.

“At first I thought it was a piece of wadded-up gum wrapper. Then I rolled it around with my finger and saw a shiny side, and I knew it was a diamond,” Moore said.
