The pets of the week are Jack, a male Australian shepherd mix about 5 months old in D23, and Honey, a 6-year-old neutered cat in C8.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center of Texarkana, Ark., has 108 dogs, 20 puppies, 37 cats and three kittens for adoption, said a shelter official. There were 30 adoptions in the past week and 62 animals were euthanized.

The fee to adopt dogs is $40. Cats can be adopted $20 each. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the shelter, 203 Harrison St. All animals have been wormed and received their seven-in-one shots. For more i...
