 C.K. Bender Elementary students practice flossing Friday during a demonstration presented by the Junior League of Texarkana in partnership with Kool Smiles. The purpose of the presentation was to educate third-graders about the importance of dental hygiene. On Friday, the Junior League with help from KOOL Smiles, presented Teeth to Treasure, a program teaching children how important it is to take care of their chompers. “Basically the purpose of our dental clinic is to educate youth on how to take care of their teeth and treat their teeth as treasure,” said Tendra Washington, Teeth to Treasure chairman.
