Region II-3A: Leopards win opener behind Middlebrooks pitching, hitting

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas Senior Will Middlebrooks did little to hurt his draft status here Thursday at Northeast Texas Community College.

Liberty-Eylaus all-stater struck out 15 and contributed two doubles at the plate in leading the Leopards past Crandall in their Region II-3A area playoff series opener, 6-2.

Middlebrooks was in complete control until tiring in the sixth and giving up two unearned runs after L-Es only error of the game.

L-E (22-5) and Crandall meet in the second game of the series today at 6:30. Senior Zach Fowler is expected to pitch for the Leopards, but those prospects ...
