Winner smashes previous record: Daniel Agnew sets new triathlon time of 54:42

Darlene Jones, the overall winner of the womens division of the Four States Triathlon, started in the second wave but by the run was in the middle of the first wave. Jones finished with a time of 1:05:28. Even if the 2006 champions, Erik Leamon and Aja James, had participated, they would have had a hard time defending their title. Newcomers Daniel Agnew and Darlene Jones were easy winners with Agnew smashing the previous record over the Wright Patman Lake course. The 20-year-old Agnew from Edmond, Okla., completed the three-tier event in a time of 54 minutes, 42 seconds, eclipsing the previous mark of 56:28 held by Shreveports Patrick Marr, set in 2000.
