Strong showing: Buford, Whitehead take Coleman Invitational

NEW BOSTON, Texas—Texarkana golfers Steve Buford and Robert Whitehead combined for an eagle and nine birdies during Sunday’s final round of the 7th annual Coleman Invitational Quota tournament at Oak Grove Golf Club and the duo took home the $1,000 first-place prize.

Buford and Whitehead scored an incredible 85 points to finish the tournament 23 points over their quota.

Two teams were a distant second at plus-16. Jimmy and Chris Harvis tied Vince Carroll and Mark Nix, who were late entries. Alone in fourth place was the team of Scott Dubois and Perry Brown....
