NEW BOSTON, Texas—Krystal Capps pitched a 2-hitter and was backed by 12 New Boston hits as the Lady Lions improved to 6-1 in District 17-2A play with a 14-0 run-ruling of Hughes Springs Tuesday.

Capps fanned four and didn’t walk a batter, and Kaylea Owen nailed a 3-run home run in New Boston’s 8-run second.

Courtney White had a double and single for the Lions (12-6 overall), and Laura Raney and Samantha Norman contributed two hits each.

Ashlee Phillips had a double for the Lady Mustangs and also took the pitching loss.
