Base-running mistakes seldom determine the outcome of a softball game, but it proved to be the difference in Texas High’s 2-1 loss to North Lamar Tuesday at Lady Tigers Field.

A North Lamar base-running blunder in the Panthers’ two-run third inning actually resulted in a run, while a Texas High mistake cost the Lady Tigers a run in the sixth.

Texas High’s Ariel McDowell outpitched North Lamar’s Kaci Crawford, giving up only three hits while striking out 11. Both Panther runs were unearned. Crawford gave up four hits while striking out six.
