ST. LOUIS—Jon Cooper, general manager and head coach for the Junior A St. Louis Bandits (formerly Texarkana Bandits) has been named one of five finalists for the 2007 United States Olympic Committee’s Developmental Coach of the Year Award.

Cooper led his Bandits to their first USA Hockey Tier II Junior A National Championship in 2006-07. His team set records for regular-season wins and playoff wins en route to it first NAHL South Division title, and surpassed those numbers this year with a 47-9-2 record.
