BRENHAM, Texas—For the fifth time in six years, including the third straight season, Texarkana College will compete in the Region XIV softball tournament starting today.

The Bulldogs claimed their fourth overall—third in a row—East Zone championship this spring. The title gave TC a first-round bye at regionals, which began Thursday at Hohlt Park on the campus of Blinn College.

Texarkana, the No. 2 seed behind Galveston College, plays San Jacinto College at 9 a.m. today. The Coyotes beat Paris, 8-2, in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament.
