HALLSVILLE, Texas—Crandall’s softball team could be facing murderer’s row in its quest to win a 3A softball championship.

To reach Austin and the state tournament, the Lady Pirates would have to eliminate four of the state’s top 10 ranked teams just in their half of the Region II-3A bracket, beginning today with No. 6 Liberty-Eylau.

The Lady Leopards, co-champions of District 16-3A, are favored to end Crandall’s season in a best-of-three area series, which unfolds at 6 p.m. on Hallsville High School’s softball field.
