BRENHAM, Texas—A pair of upsets, in which both top seeds lost, highlighted the second day of the Region XIV softball tournament at Hohlt Park on the campus of Blinn College.

Texarkana College, the second seed, dropped a 3-2 decision to San Jacinto, and the host Buccaneers blanked top-seeded Galveston, 3-0. The Bulldogs (35-20) and Whitecaps managed to win their second games of the day and will meet in a loser’s bracket elimination game at 11:30 a.m. today.
