GURDON, Ark.—Genoa Central earned its first-ever berth at the 3A state baseball tournament Saturday with an 8-3 win over Camden Harmony Grove at the Region 3A-4 tournament.

Sophomore Kenny Spencer allowed seven hits and struck out 10 in getting the win.

Genoa (10-11) was led at the plate by Wesley Mudford, who had three hits including a towering three-run homer in the sixth.

Spencer, Justin Mosbey and Mason Belk all had two hits for the Dragons.

Genoa will be back in action at 4 p.m. on Monday against host Gurdon.
