BRENHAM, Texas—Defending champion Texarkana College bowed out of the Region XIV Softball tournament Saturday morning after losing to nationally-ranked Galveston in the double-elimination event, 5-3.

Galveston never trailed, although the Bulldogs banged out 10 hits off winning pitcher Lindsey Olson.

The Whitecaps were led at the plate by Mollye Mlcak, who drove home two runs with a double and single. Galveston and San Jacinto were playing for the championship at presstime.
