HALLSVILLE, Texas—It was the same difficult playing surface for both teams Saturday at Hallsville High School’s Lady Cat Field.

Liberty-Eylau adapted and played errorless ball, while Crandall’s defense collapsed with nine errors that allowed the Lady Leopards to score eight unearned runs on their way to an 8-1 victory.

The win gave L-E (19-4-2) a sweep of the Class 3A area playoff series and earned the Leopards a berth in next week’s regional quarterfinals against Bullard or Sabine. Those two teams played a single-game playoff Saturday night.
