GURDON, Ark.—Cobie Bearden’s grand slam in the bottom of the fifth earned Genoa Central a third seed later this week at the Class 3A state baseball tournament in Searcy.

Bearden also hit a double and single, driving home seven runs as the Dragons routed defending 3A state champion Horatio, 18-8. Gurdon was leading Prescott in the 4-3A championship game, 4-0, in the second inning at presstime.
