Texas Baseball Playoffs: New Boston tops Quitman in Game 1 of series, 5-2
PARIS, Texas—Left-hander Caleb Hensley tossed a two-hitter, leading New Boston to a 5-2 victory over Quitman in the opener of a best-of-three area series Friday at Paris Junior College’s Hub Hollis Field.
The series resumes at 1 p.m. today with a third game, if necessary, following shortly afterward. Hensey struck out six and walked five in the route-going performance. The Lions (19-9) managed just four hits, including Janson Carr’s solo home run in the first inning. New Boston coach Lonnie Henry said he was unsure who his first-game pitcher would be today. ...
