LONGVIEW, Texas—Maud continued to gain momentum in the Class A softball playoffs, run-ruling Joaquin, 10-0, Friday at Pine Tree High School.

The Lady Cardinals (22-10), the second seed from District 18-A, moves on to the Region III semifinals where they will take on Slocum at 7 p.m. next Friday in Carthage. Slocum defeated Colmesneil Friday.

Freshman Kara Sutton pitched a 3-hitter for the Cardinals, who blew open a close game with eight runs in the fourth inning.
