AUSTIN—Liberty-Eylau ran out of events, and had to settle for second place Friday night in the UIL girls Class 3A track and field state meet at the University of Texas’ Mike Myers Stadium.

The Lady Leopards and Canyon were tied for the lead with only the 1600-meter relay remaining, but L-E did not have an entry, and Canyon easily won the event in the title, 72-52 over the Leopards.

Atlanta’s boys came even closer. Despite turning in their best relay times of the spring, the Rabbs finished second to Curero, 62-52.
