BASEBALL: Former Texarkana College pitcher Josh Turner broke the Weatherford College record for victories with his 10th win Sunday night, an 11-1 win over 7th-ranked New Mexico Junior College in the first round of the Region V tournament at Lubbock.

The New Boston right-hander pitched a complete, 7-inning game, allowing only five hits, while striking out six.

Turner transferred to Weatherford last year, following last year’s interim head coach at TC, Chad Massengale, who is the pitching coach at WC.
