Good pitching always beats good hitting—at least it did Monday at Razorback Field in the Class 6A semifinals.

Arkansas High managed just two hits off Sylvan Hills, suffering a 3-0 setback, and won’t be making its third straight trip to Fayetteville to defend its state championship.

“We always want to reach the state finals,” said AHS coach Mike Lloyd. “We’ve been there three out of the past five years so we are used to being there.”

The Razorbacks finish the season with a 23-11 record.
