With similar talent and strategy, fourth-ranked Liberty-Eylau hopes experience is a decisive factor as they open the Region II-3A semifinal best-of-three series with Frisco Wakeland at 7 p.m. today at Sulphur Springs High School.

“I’m sure Coach (Todd) Tipton believes it’ll be difficult for anyone to beat (Lacey) Middlebrooks twice, and that’s how we feel about Alexis (Cantu),” Wakeland coach Chris Southard said. “Both girls have a dominating presence, and both teams feed off them. It’s going to be a battle for sure.”
