MINERAL SPRINGS, Ark.—It was close until the very end in the girls division at the Class 2A state track and field meet Thursday at Hornet Stadium.

Des Arc’s girls rolled up 125 points to claim the championship, one point ahead of Westside Johnson County at 124. Jessieville was third with 78, and host Mineral Springs fourth with 69 points.

The boys division was won by Earle’s 88 points. Des Arc came in second with 81 1/2, and Junction City took third at 65.
