KILGORE, Texas—Pleasant Grove struck black gold Friday night at Driller Park in the Region II-3A baseball quarterfinal against Bullard.

The Hawks advanced to the regional semifinals by defeating Bullard, 1-0, behind a solid pitching performance from junior Michael Wacha. The Hawks improve to 22-8 on the season.

“It was a pitcher’s duel all the way,” said PG coach Craig Jones. “We had our chances, and they had theirs, but that one error cost them the game.”
