Texas Baseball Playoffs: Lions, Mustangs claim openers; Maud splits games
HALLSVILLE, Texas—The beat goes on for New Boston baseball.
Caleb Hensley went the distance on the mound, allowing just four hits as the Lions knocked off state-ranked New Diana, 5-1, in the first game of a best-of-three series for the Region III-2A quarterfinals title. Hensley, a left-hander, struck out 12 and walked six for the Lions, who will go for the clincher at 1 p.m. today at Hallsville High School.
