LONGVIEW, Texas—New Boston’s Lady Lions’ season came to an abrupt end Friday with a doubleheader loss to Woden in the Region III-2A semifinals at Pine Tree’s Lady Pirates Field.

Woden (20-5) pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the opener, 2-1, then took the nightcap, 3-1.

Junior right-hander Jordan Schmidt was the winning pitcher in both games for the Lady Eagles, while Krystal Capps was the hard-luck loser in both.
