BECKVILLE, Texas—McLeod turned a pair of double plays to end the final two innings and preserve the Longhorns’ 7-4 upset victory over second-ranked Overton in the Region III-A baseball quarterfinals here Saturday.

McLeod (18-8) now faces West Sabine or Alto in next week’s regional semifinals. The Mustangs, the state’s No. 2 team in the Texas High School Baseball Association’s poll, end their season at 20-4.
