More than 200 triathletes will be competing at Lake Wright Patman this morning in the annual Four States Triathlon.

This year will be a special event as the athletes will be competing for the Southwest Region Sprint Triathlon title.

“We have some of the finest athletes from the Southwest here for this championship,” said race director Mike Riley. “We had 225 people pre-registered as of Thursday, which is 50 more that last year.”
